Projects dedicated to hydrogen technology development receive $34 million.
The Department of Energy announced that $34 million is being awarded to 19 research projects focused on generating clean energy from hydrogen to power homes and businesses.
Hydrogen power may be gathered from all other forms of energy creation, such as solar, wind, nuclear, and carbon capture technology, and when used to create energy its only byproducts are water and heat. At the moment, hydrogen energy technology is not developed enough to be used affordably on a large scale.
“Clean hydrogen is one of our most versatile tools to slash emissions and forge a carbon-free pathway for a sustainable clean energy future,” said Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm. “With today’s announcements, DOE is supporting the continued advancement of clean hydrogen technology making it cheaper to produce and easier to deploy, all while creating good-paying jobs in the process.”
